On a rainy day in 2013 I was sitting at at my desk at work eating a boring meal deal for lunch after returning from a 6 week trip travelling in the U.S. when a sudden feeling of ‘Hiraeth’ came along. There had to be more to life than sitting at a desk and soggy sandwiches. After much excited research and a huge leap of faith HOGi HOGi HOGi was born. I invested in a Hog roast machine and for the first few years we served delicious hog roast dishes all over Wales. Our first festival was the vibrant National Eisteddfod which was particularly significant to me as a proud Welshman and speaker, this attracts in excess of 160,000 hungry people over 8 days. This is where we found our love of festivals. We reviewed and adapted our menu to appeal to festival goers, my inspiration came from my extensive travels around the world sampling delicious street food along the way. As ambassadors of Welsh food we of course wanted to keep a Welsh thread throughout the menu using local, quality produce to dream up exciting dishes such as our Cardiffornian Burrito and our Caerphilly Cheesesteak.
